New Rental Micro Apartments Ready for Occupancy in 2023

Here at Simba Investments, we pride ourselves on leading an experienced and committed team to build residential homes in the Comox Valley. Currently, we are focusing our attention towards building much-needed rental housing in a variety of locations. There is a need for smaller apartments in the rental market. We are moving forward with two projects that focus on building rental micro units in Courtenay, BC.

What is a Micro Unit?

Good question! A micro unit is a smaller version of a studio apartment that will be approximately 320 sq. ft. in size. It is built as an open space floor plan which includes three kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer. The rent is typically less in a micro unit compared to a studio apartment because it is smaller in size.

574 Cumberland Road 

27 residential units made up of 6 micros, 9 one-bedrooms, 12 two-bedroom plus  6 commercial spaces 

We have designed a building to accommodate rental micro units at 574 Cumberland Road. This is an exciting opportunity for Simba Investments to meet the rental market needs of local residents. The ground floor will include commercial/retail space which is available for lease. The building is only a few blocks from downtown Courtenay and is expected to be completed in 2023. 

32 Micro Units – 14th Street at England Ave. 

This building will house 32 micro units that will be 321 sq. ft. in size. These units will include all kitchen appliances plus a washer and dryer. Underground parking is available for tenants. These small apartments will be available for rent in 2023. This is the perfect location in a quiet and convenient area of central Courtenay. It is within walking distance of downtown, grocery stores, banking facilities, medical and dental offices, pharmacies, restaurants, malls and more. Check back in 2023 for when we start taking applications and waitlist for available rentals.
